To define the ideas of the health personnel regarding the usage of the organic foods

This research has been performed in order to identity the views of health personnel on consuming organic nutritives. The research has been carried out in 10 clinics selected as study environment where the clinics in Ankara University Medical Faculty Cebeci Hospital. The study has been applied on a total of 196 health personnel, selected among health personnel working as hospital attendant, laboratory technician, nurse and medical doctor, through Random Sampling Method. In carrying out this research, general scanning method has been used. The health personnel to participate into the research can be listed a follow: 43.9 %nurses, 23 % doctors, 17.9 %trained nurses and 15.3 % laborants. And these personnel's 74.9% woman, 63% graduated academic, 37.4% has been worked over 10 years. The ratio of those, who deem it sufficient, is only 21.2%. 67.4% of health personnel, do not consider their knowledge level related with organic products as sufficient. 70.3% of health personnel, feel need for training related with organic products. In general they consider their knowledge levels related with organic nutritives are insufficient. In growing up agricultural products, 58.7% of health personnel do not approve the use of chemical fertilizers, 92.2% do not approve hormone use, 33.2% of them do not approve use of agricultural medicines and 43.6% do not approve the use of pesticides. Health personnel support organic products; however they consider that some of the substances used, prevent agricultural products from being healthy nutritives. 96.3% of the health personnel, who participated in the research and stated their views related with the subject, think that some of the substance should not be used in growing up agricultural products, due to their negative effects on health. They defend that hormones should never be used in growing up agricultural products. As its reason they showed their negative effect on health. Health personnelbelieve the importance of organic nutritives. Most of the health personnel, while thinking chemical substances used in modern agricultural methods, may be the cause of formation of nitrozemine and nitrözemides that increase the risk of cancer, approximately half of them think that they may cause digestive system diseases.
