Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this study is to conduct a research on the technology acceptance level of employees in the health sector. Towards this aim, the levels of the related dimensions of the users have been determined by utilizing the Technology Acceptance Model and its sub-dimensions. In the first part of the thesis, the health sector and its development in the world was explained; while in the second part, information on the Technology Acceptance Model and literature review were given. In the third part, findings obtained from the analysis were given. The survey was conducted by using face-to-face and web based survey methods and for 7 months and 272 valid questionnaires were obtained. Explanatory factor analyses were carried out in order to determine which items in the scale refer to which basic components. In the phases of validity and reliability, the scale which was used in the study of Aggelidis, V. P. and Chatzoglou, P. D. (2009) originally in English was requested from the writers via mail and translated into Turkish by the scale experts. Then, the scale was re-translated from Turkish to English. The inconsistencies were resolved by comparing the two English forms. Again a comparison was made and consistency was achieved between forms in the second phase. The final version of the scale wich was translated into Turkish was used in the study. The t-test and one-way analysis of variance were applied to determine whether the level of participants were different according to sex, age, educational status, duties and having in-service trainings about the Hospital Information System in terms of Technology Acceptance Model sub-scales. Differences in capacities of using Hospital Information System were examined with nonparametric Mann Whitney U and Kruskal Wallis H Tests. A correlation analysis was used to determine the relationship between variables. Then regression analysis was performed. In the light of the obtained results, it is necessary to meet the Perceived Usefulness and training needs of the users for effective use of the Hospital Information System. To encourage the use of the Hospital Information System it is necessary to make the system more useful and to provide more training to the users.
