A study on determining of some haematologic parameters in healty Oreochromis niloticus (L.)

IV ABSTRACT This research was carried out at the date between November 1993 and August-1994 in Freshwater Fishculture Station, Faculty of Fisheries, The University of Çukurova. It was studied on determinations if some haematologic parameters of healthy Oreochromis niloticus (L.) adult (Cichlidae family). In this research, total 110 individuals each 17-21,24 cm lenght and 112-142 gr weight, were used. Result were determined as,- red cell counts, 2.16-4.005.10® /mm3 ; white cell counts, 25.6-77.5 103 / mm3 ; the value of haematocrit. %25-%44; haemoglobin content 3-6 dL/g. Percentages of lymphocyte cells, %32~%84; monocyte cells, %B-%42; neuthrophil cells, %4-%10; eosinophil cells, %4-%28; agranulocyte cells. %64-%92 and granulocyte cells, %8-%36. Mean diameters of long and short erythrocyte cells were found as 11-14^ and 5-7/i respectively. In addition, other results were found as diameter of lymphocyte cells, 7-11.5/i; monocyte cells, 9. 5-1 1.5^; neuthrophil cells, 5-8/j; eosinophil cells, 7.5-lOji. Since a single basophyl cell is found in only one study, it is not expressed in %. And also, total serum protein, 2.6-4.4 dL/g; blood glucose level, 114-235 dL/mg.
