Sahaja Yoga: It?s content, purpose, actions in Turkey

In recent years, one of the New Religious Movements that shows activity in Turkey is the Sahaja Yoga. Although this formation manifests itself as one of the yoga schools appeared through history, it is considered within the New Religious Movements since its features have associations with them. In this study, we have evaluated the Sahaja Yoga according to its similarities to both New Religious Movements and yoga schools.The study we carried out within this frame consists of ?introduction, two sections and result chapters.? In the introduction, we mentioned about this study's subject matter, importance, extent, purpose, method, and resources. Apart from this, in this section, in order to provide an outlook to the Sahaja Yoga, we reviewed yoga's meaning, its origin, its historical development, the relationship between the Sahaja Yoga and New Religious Movements, and the intersection points of the Sahaja Yoga and health.In first chapter we emphasized meaning, emergence, development of Sahaja Yoga and life of Shri Mataji who founder of Sahaja Yoga, Shri Mataji?s location in movement. Besides we acquainted subject like organization structure of Sahaja Yoga and activity of this organization.In second chapter we emphasized basic concept of Sahaja Yoga, how practised, view to other religions. We also discuss about critique to Sahaja Yoga.In the final chapter, we concluded our study by providing evaluations in the light of the results that we obtained through our research.
