Professions in Sait Faik Abasıyanık's works

Sait Faik Abasıyanık started his literary career with his book "Semaver", which he wrote in 1936. Abasıyanık, who could not hold on to any profession even though he tried various professions throughout his life, successfully handled various professional groups with the way he handled situations in his works. In his works, he generally preferred to describe the daily situations of middle-class heroes. It is possible to say that the heroes and places featured in his works bear traces of the environment in which he lived. He analyzed the social status of the heroes from all walks of life he encountered in the environment in question, associating them with their professions. The purpose of this study; The aim is to identify various professions in Sait Faik Abasıyanık's works, to explain how these professions are handled, and also to examine the way in which professions that have become traditional over time are handled. At the same time, the impact of the professions in question on the characters was also emphasized. The role of professional groups in determining social status is emphasized. In the first part of the thesis, the studies on Sait Faik Abasıyanık are examined and information is given about his life, literary personality, works and art.
