The review of word groups ın the story Son Kuşlar of Sait Faik Abasıyanık and evaluation of this word groups ın termf of Turkısh education

This study includes word groups which take place in the work of Sait FaikABASIYANIK titled ?SON KUŞLAR?.These word groups are worked on in this story: noun phrases, adjectivephrases, mixed type phrases, repetitive groups, verbal phrases, prepositional phrasesand forms of address.Noun compounds are analyzed as defining, nondefining and chain(continious) noun compounds. Defining noun compounds are analyzed in sixsubdivisions as: ?both components having prefixes?, ?the defining is a pronoun, andthe deifed not having a prefix?, ?Hving no defined prefix?, and ?although there is nodefining prefix, still having the meaning of defining noun compounds?.There isn?t any classification while studying on adjective phrases. This isbecause different adjective types are mostly used together.Adjectives are veryimportant in the style of Sait Faik.He wishes to describe a situation or a thingcompletely in order to make alive what he will say entirely.In the part of mixed type phrases, phrases which include adjective and nounphrases together are studied.Adjective phrases whose noun component is a nounphrase and noun phrases whose either first or second component is an adjectivephrase take place under this title.Repetition groups are analyzed as five groups as those formed with therepetition of the same word, those formed with affirmative -negative words, thoseformed with the repetition of synonyms or close meanşng words, those formed withreflections.Verbal phrases are considered into three groups: verbal nouns, adjectivalverbs and adverbal phrases.Adjectival verbs are divided into two groups. The onesused with ?possessive suffixes? and adjectival verbs which have nominalcharacteristics.Prepositional phrases are categorized like this: the ones that noun componentcontain one word and the ones that noun component contains a group of word.Finally, forms of address are taken into account.At the end of the sentences which contain the word groups it is pointed outthat these word groups take place at which story, at which page and at which line.Every word group is shown in italics in each sentence.This master thesis is prepared based on the first edition of ?SONKUŞLAR?.Original texts of these stories take place at the conclusion and thesuggestion part.
