Crimean Ulema in Şakâik-i Numaniyye and Zeyilleri

In this study, the biographies of Crimean ulema in Taşköprülüzâde Ahmed Efendi's biographical work named Şakâik-i Numâniyye and its supplements were examined. In this context, the study is classified into three parts. In the first part, the geography and history of Crimea, in the second part, Taşköprülüzâde Ahmed Efendi and her work Şakâik-i Numâniyye, and in the third part, the biographies of Crimean ulema in Şakâik-i Numâniyye and its addendums are included. In general terms, in the first part of the study, the geopolitical location of Crimea and the political situation of Crimea before the Khanate are discussed. Then, the history of the Crimean Khanate is included within the framework of Ottoman-Russian relations. In the second part of the study, Taşköprülüzâde Ahmed Efendi's life, scientific aspects, works and the introduction of his work Şakâik-i Numâniyye, which is the subject of our study, and studies about the work and its authors are included. The translations, telhis and addendums written to Şakâik-i Numâniyye are introduced together with their authors. In the third part of the study, the biographies of the Crimean ulemâ in Şakâik-i Numâniyye and Zeyilleri were examined and their lives, hometowns, professions, education and works were determined. In addition, the biographies were expanded by adding information obtained from other main sources not found in Şakaik, and the study was enriched by tabulating the information of the identified Crimean scholars. In the third chapter, a general evaluation of the information about ulema was made under a separate heading. In this study, the translations and addenda in the corpus published by Abdulkadir Özcan in 1989 under the name Şakâik-i Numâniyye ve Zeyilleri were used as the main source, and second-hand sources were used to enrich the study.
