Prevalence of Experiencing occupational accident in Construction Site, and Occupational Disease and Associated FactorsThe objective of this study is to determine the working conditions, and occupational accidents and associated factors for the workers in the construction site on which Housing Estate Administration of Sakarya City is constructing.In the supplementary / sectional study conducted in 2009 by the Joint Venture between Atlas Yapı Sanayi Ve Ticaret A.Ş. and Erdinç Ltd. Şti. has been globally adopted with regard to the construction of 1208 houses with mosque premises by Housing Development Administration of Turkey (TOKI) within the borders of Sakarya City (247 persons).It has been determined that 15% of the construction workers have experienced occupational accident. Falling down is the most common type of accident. The prevalence of occupational accidents is higher in the workers under 24, and over 45, and workers who are working less than 1 year in construction sites and who are working more than 31 years in construction sites, and who would like not to work anymore, and who have challenges in special life, and who present with health problems and who consider that this profession gives damages to health.The conclusions and results of the study are similar to prevalence of occupational accident in constructional works, and also to the associated factors. The conclusions of this study will be submitted to the workplace management in order for reducing the occupational accidents, and regulating the working conditions, and also solving challenges.
