Abstract (EN)
Urban open spaces are the most important element that allows cities to live in one place. The places where people come together in the city and the facilities they offer are important in meeting user requirements and assessing the quality of the environment. In this respect, it is important that the environment is equipped with all the facilities that can meet the requirements of the users, in order to maintain the physiological and psychological life in a healthy and high quality manner. Within the scope of this study, two parks in Adapazarı, which have the greatest surface area in terms of area size, were examined: Kent Park and Sakarya Park. This work has an original value in terms of work area, albeit similar to previous works. The aim of the study is to determine the extent to which the urban people are examined, protected and cared for natural parks, natural and cultural doctrines, the extent to which the urban population meets the open space requirement, and suggests that their sustainable use should be addressed in line with the quality criteria. In order to achieve the purpose of this study, two questionnaire studies were conducted for both park users, namely "Quality criteria in ideal urban parks" and "User satisfaction in urban parks" questionnaire. It has been tried to determine which of the criteria that determine quality in urban parks is more important in terms of users. In order to determine user requirements and preferences in detail, questions were asked about the functional, technical and aesthetic criteria of the area. The questionnaire forms were drawn from similar studies as a result of literature review. When the questionnaires were evaluated statistically SPSS package program was used. After the use of urban open spaces, the users were evaluated about the spaces by using the After Use Assessment (KSD) method in order to evaluate the users visually. In use, it is an assessment of the user's satisfaction and dissatisfaction with the physical environment. This assessment has reached the conclusion that all expectations of users before arriving in the area can't be met after they arrive.
