Abstract (EN)
This research has been applied to determine information about measuring the status and implementation status of the nurses who employed in Sakarya University Training and Research Hospital Central Campus regarding breast cancer (BreastCa) and breast self-examination (BSE). Research data developed in accordance with the literature, participants' socio-demographic characteristics, the level of knowledge about breast ca, including the level of knowledge about BSE and the applicaton state in collected by 52 question questionnaire. The study was performed on 125 nurses. 43,2% of total nurses were single, 55,2% were married, 1,6% divorced. Factors that most of the surveyed nurses has knowledge of risk factors for breast cancer is breast cancer comes from the family 92,8%; the factor that they are the leastin formed early menstruation 32%. 48% of surveyed nurses making their BSE application in 5-7 days of monthly period, it was found that 8% never do. The result of research; nurses are aware of the symptoms of breast ca however they are not aware breast ca risk factors and also determined that they do not apply BSE in regular way.
