Theological views of Salih b. Mahdi Al-Maqbili and el-Alemuş-Şâmih

This study aims to analyze the theological views of one of the prominent scholars of the Zaydi kalam tradition, Salih b. Mehdi al-Maqbili, within the framework of his work al-Aʿlām al-Shāmikh. The research examines both al-Maqbili's scholarly personality and the position of this work within the Zaydi kalam tradition in detail. The thesis has been prepared using the methods of literature review and content analysi Al-Maqbili's al-Aʿlām al-Shāmikh has been examined directly, compared with classical Zaydi kalam texts, and his views have been evaluated together with the basic doctrines of the sect. In addition, al-Maqbili's stance has been analyzed in the context of inter-sectarian interaction, and the supra-sectarian aspects of his theological approach have been revealed. The study consists of two main chapters: 1. The first chapter introduces the life, scholarly personality, and works of Salih Mehdi al-Maqbili; it presents the socio-political and intellectual conditions of his era, his education, the scholarly circles that influenced him, and his authored work 2. The second chapter systematically evaluates al-Maqbili's views on essential theological topics such as the attributes of God, predestination, human acts, prophethood, imamate, and sectarian criticism within the framework of al-Aʿlām al-Shāmikh, and discusses the contributions of these views to both Zaydi kalam and İslâmic kalam in general.
