Religious- social structure in Van and Bitlis provinces in respect of yearbooks

As Van and Bitlis, comprising many civilizations throughout centuries, both hold an important place in being conquered Anatolia by the Turk, and also they became first Turkish region. At the beginning of the XVI. century, Suryanis, Protestants, Armenians, Catholics, Kiptis, Jewishes and Yezidis lived together in this region where the overwhelming majority of the population were composed of Mulims.According to Salnames, non- muslims also had religious and social institutions in Van and Bitlis, likewise Muslim society did.We have provided social and religious institutions belonging to Muslims and non-muslims who lived in Van and Bitlis and, also Muslim and non-muslim population living in the area by adding the tables in the form of city center, sanjak; counties and regions.Key Words: Van, Bitlis, Muslim, non- muslim, religion and social institution, population.
