Optical investigations of some supernova remnants in milky way

Abstract (EN)
In this study, optical observations of 8 supernova remnants (SNRs) selected from among the SNRs found in the Milky Way and discovered at radio wavelengths were made using TÜB ̇ITAK National Observatory telescopes (RTT150 and T100). With the photometry observations made, using Hα and [SII] filters, optical radiation was discovered for the first time from SNRs G107.5−1.5 and G189.6+3.3, which have not been observed optically in the literature. A detailed source of undetermined origin is located southwest of the previously studied SNR G67.7+1.8 at optical wavelength observations were made for the first time. Optical emission could not be detected from G36.6+2.6, G93.3+6.9, G150.8+3.8, G152.4−2.1 and G181.1+9.5 at the given exposure times. Spectroscopic observations of SNRs, whose morphology (diffuse and filamentary) were determined by Hα and [SII] filters, were also made with TFOSC (TUG Faint Object Spectrograph and Camera), and the Hydrogen Balmer lines expected in SNRs in these spectra (Hβ λ 4861Å, Hα λ 6563Å), and forbidden lines; [O III] λ λ 4959, 5007Å, [N II] λ λ 6548, 6584Å and [S II] λ λ 6716, 6731Å were detected. Using the flux ratios of these lines; some physical parameters of the SNRs and the interstellar medium, such as the electron density of the medium, the velocity of the shock wave, the reddening and the interstellar extinction coefficient have been calculated and these values have been compared with the theoretical values. In addition, the observability limits of common and faint objects such as SNRs have been investigated with the photometry observations made with the T100 telescope, and it has been shown that the T100 telescope can be used effectively for SNR observations in the Milky Way.
