Abstract (EN)
Aesthetic concerns have existed in our lives since human history. In the past, there were art philosophies brought about by these aesthetic concerns. Nowadays, graphic design, which presents us with aesthetic concerns, art philosophies and functionality as a whole, is a very comprehensive field. Packaging design, which is a branch of graphic design, is an ever-developing field and has a significant impact on our lives, especially during shopping. In addition, the shortening of time spent in front of market shelves by consumers trying to keep up with the pace of life brought by our age is directly related to packaging design. In this thesis study, the effect of the packaging design of chocolate, one of the convenience goods, on purchasing when created using different art movements was observed. The philosophies of 5 different art movements are reflected in the packaging designs. Questions regarding purchasing intention were created along with the designed packages. In this study, it is aimed to reveal the effect of packaging created with the expression of art movements used in design on the consumer's purchasing intention.
