Abstract (EN)

Within the scope of the thesis study "The Sociological Interpretation of the Relationship between War and Migration: The Case of the Istanbul Sultanahmet Region in 2023", the migration in the Sultanahmet district of Fatih District, Istanbul province, where Syrian refugees settled in the Republic of Turkey, which is the center for the mass migration movements that emerged due to the wars in the Middle East geography in recent years and the working life of immigrants will be investigated. There are many effects underlying the formation of migration, and in the context of its effects, the decision-making situation of the immigrant can change and transform. The decision to migrate, the risks that may occur during the migration process and the choıce of place can develop with the decision of the immigrant or outside the decision of immigrant. In this study, it is aimed to examine the spatial that occurs, therefore, without ignoring the influence levels of the hictorical, socio-cultural and political parts that underlie the choice of the place, types of migration such as mass migration, transit migration and refugee and "temporary asylum seeker" the working life of Syrians with the status of. Therefore, the research will focus on the migration movements that emerged due to the war, the perceptions of the immigrants and the citizens of the migrated country, the processes of migration and adaption to the newly setted region and their working life. Thus, the change and transformation created by Syrian workers in the Sultanahmet region in the sociological structure of the region will be examined.
