Abstract (EN)

In the latest edition (2021) of the globally accepted PMI standards in project management, the process and group-based structure of project management has been expanded and transformed into a more comprehensive principles-based perspective in order to ensure its applicability for all projects. In recent years, national development projects have been given importance in the defense industry of Türkiye. With this study, the defense industry project process, which is difficult to manage due to the long duration of the project and the large number of stakeholders, was compared with the PMI standards. By comparison, the ability of defense industry project management stakeholders to comply with the project management principles specified in the PMI standards and the outputs of project management performance domains have been researched in the defense industry project management process. A project management process proposal has been developed for defense industry development projects. In this proposal, in order to make the defense industry project management method agile, sub-processes are defined and associated with the project management principles and performance domains specified in the PMI standards. The effects of the process on the projects were evaluated by comparing the two sample projects carried out with the proposed process
