Comparison of the effects of different training methods on antioxidant levels in hot environment

Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study was compare of different training method in hot environment to find which one of these methods more efficient on antioxidant levels.30 male voluntary physical education and sport students who have no healthy problem participated in this stud. Subjects were divided into 2 groups as continuous running group (n=15) and interval running group (n=15). Both groups participated in two different training programs continuous and (interval, running) which include 3 days a week- in 8 weeks, average temperature was 29 ? 34 0C in hot environment 2 days before and 2 days after the programme training blood samples were taken. In to analyse malondialdehyde (MDA), paraoxonase activity (PON), arylesterase activity (ARE) and glutathione (GSH) level Mann-Whitney U and Wilcoxon test was used for statistical analyze of the study.While there were significant differences between pre-test scores of BW, BMI and Body Fat% of 1st and 24th training in interval training group (p<0,05). There was a significant decrease in BW and BMI scores group at the and at training programme (p<0,05) Also the significant difference was found Body Fat% of posttest score of 1st and 24th training of interval group (p<0,01). At the end of continuous training programme, although there were a significant decrease among the BW (p<0,05) and Body Fat% (p<0,01) of pre-test scores of 1st and 24th training session, there was no significant difference in BMI score. Compaison of post-test scourese of first and last training session showed that although there were significant differences in BW and Body Fat% (p 0,01), there was no significant difference in BMI.Max VO2 values of both groups increased significantly (P<0.01). There was no significant difference between groups.According to results of stud, GSH, MDA and PON levels decreased in interval run group before and after the training, but this decrease was not significant as a statistically, in ARE in terms of (P<0.01) there was a significant decrease, in terms of (P<0.05) between before training and after training level of continuous runnig group there was a significant difference in PON, although MDA, GSH and ARE level have no difference as statistically. According to different training methods in heating area pre and last test results are compared in terms of antioxidant level and we cannot find any statistical difference.Continuous runnig training that were performed at hot environment, more effective on oxidative stress by increasing lipid peroxidation.As a result; it can be said type and duration of training characteristics of subjects an climatical conditions effects the antioxidant level levels of the subjects.Key Words: Hot environment, Endurance training, Antioxidants, Free radicals, Maximal oxygen consumption
