Özet (EN)
The aim of this study is to compare the therapeutic efficacy of Myrtus communis extract and the effects of ethacridine lactate solution on wound healing on the defect that will cover the full skin thickness on the dorsal skin of rats experimentally. In this study, by complying with the conditions of asepsis and antisepsis under anesthesia; Defects were created by incising 4 pieces of skin with a full layer of 1 cm in diameter with the help of a sterile scalpel in the dorsum of 12 rats, and a combination of M. communis extract, ethacridine lactate, and M. communis extract and ethacridine lactate was applied daily to these defects. The first wound created was left alone and evaluated in terms of the natural healing process, which formed the control group. At the end of the study, skin biopsies were taken from the relevant regions under anesthesia and the wound healing process was compared using histopathological and immunohistochemical methods (CD31). Macroscopically, the changes in each wound size within itself according to time (from day 1 to day 21) were found to be statistically significant (p<0.05) and the fastest wound size reduction was observed in the MCE (M. communis extract) group from the first day, while the slowest reduction was observed in the EL (ethacridine lactate) group. In the evaluation of lesions microscopically, 3 important changes such as epithelialization, area of inflammation and vascularization were analyzed. As a result, it was observed that in animals treated with M. communis only, wound healing occurred faster in accordance with natural physiological processes compared to M. communis with ethacridine lactate, only ethacridine lactate and control groups.
