Abstract (EN)

DahaHeteroleptic ruthenium complexes, which include the design, synthesis and investigation of antimicrobial activities of heteroleptic ruthenium complexes that are effective in dye-sensitized solar cell (DSSC) applications, were obtained using three different groups of ligands. Group 1; Schiff base, group 2; 2,2'-bipyridine-4,4'-dicarboxylic acid, (L8) and group 3; thiocyanate (-NCS) were selected, Schiff bases were synthesized in this study and other ligands were supplied commercially. Possible geometries were determined by characterization studies using elemental analysis (C, H, N, S), FT-IR, ICP-OES and mass analysis. It has been shown that complexes 1, 2 and 3 are not effective in solar cell applications, while complexes 4, 5, 6 and 7 are effective. Antimicrobial activity studies were performed to determine whether the complexes would create an environment suitable for the growth of microorganisms in long-term use as a dye, using agar well diffusion and MIC (minimum inhibitory concentration) methods. It was determined that all of the complexes were evaluated as promising for the production of effective DSSC materials with antimicrobial properties. In this context, it is important that the complexes will not create an environment suitable for the growth of microorganisms in long-term use as dyes.
