Abstract (EN)

City Health Profile Preparation Guide: The Case of Turkey The aim of this study is to develop the "City Health Profile Preparation Guide" to understand, evaluate, and provide effective solutions to health problems arising from the accelerated urbanization. Methodologically, the research was conducted between December 27, 2023, and April 29, 2024, at the Department of Public Health, Faculty of Medicine, Aydın Adnan Menderes University. A mixed method (quantitative and qualitative) was used for data evaluation. After a literature review and the selection of indicator sets, the indicators were presented to two pools of experts. In the first expert pool (n=4), a preliminary selection was conducted, while in the second expert pool (n=11), the indicators were assessed for "suitability for the guide" and "suitability for the selected section." Fleiss Kappa and Kendall's W test statistics were applied for inter-rater reliability analysis. The content validity of the indicators was calculated using the Modified Lawshe Technique, with the Content Validity Ratio (CVR) for each indicator and the Content Validity Index (CVI) for the entire guide and its sections. In the study, the initial 1262 indicators were reduced to 784 indicators after the preliminary selection and presented to the second expert pool. In the second expert pool, indicators with CVR ≥0.636 were determined to be n=538, with the overall CVI calculated as 0.807. After final evaluations, 47 more indicators were included, bringing the total number of indicators to n=585. These indicators cover 12 sections. In the qualitative analysis, 90.57% of the experts accepted the indicators as they were, some experts provided positive feedback (0.042%), some provided negative feedback (0.02%), and some offered improvement suggestions (0.45%) and general comments (8.5%). The content validity analyses and expert evaluations conducted in this study concluded that the guide is scientifically grounded and contains appropriate indicators for creating a comprehensive city health profile.
