Abstract (EN)
The name, which is a phenomenon and a concept that emerged with the existence of human beings, means the word that is used to explain, define, explain and report a person. It is the general acceptance that people have started to be named in order to distinguish all assets in the world from their other homogeneous species, classify and embody them, and mark the assets that are foreign to them. Science, which deals with the name of living things, objects and concepts, briefly everything we see and perceive around us, is called onomastique. Names given to individuals and some ceremonies during naming are considered as one of the most important elements that reflect the religious, political, social and cultural structure of a nation. For this reason, researching the unique names and naming ceremonies of every nation is very important not only for history studies, but also for science branches such as linguistics, sociology, folklore and ethnography. For this reason, it is of great importance to correctly identify and analyze the names of individuals mentioned in historical and literary texts. In this study, the determination, analysis and evaluation of the Turkish names used in the Seljuk Anatolia are discussed. The main goal of the study is the origin, structure, meaning, relationship between naming traditions of Turkish names used in Seljuk Anatolia, the social position of people using Turkish names, the distribution of people using Turkish names according to their centuries, their classification according to the types of sources they are identified, the gender of those who use Turkish names. and to determine the usage numbers. In other words, Turkish personal names used in Seljuk Anatolia are both etymological explanations and revealing the historical personality of the people using the name.
