Abstract (EN)

The arrival of Seljuks to Anatolia is an important event not only in Turkish history but also in the history of the world. Seljukid Turks/Turkomans who came to Middle East before Dandanakan War in 1040 settled in the regions of Azerbaijan and Iraq first. Afterwards Seljuk Turks who turned to Anatolia initially entered the region of Diyâr-i Bakr which was under the rule of Mervanis then. The relationship between Seljuks and Mervanis that began in 1038 advanced after 1040.Oghuz-Turkmen migration escalated with the foundation of Seljuk State in Horasan affected the Mervanis most. Mervanis who had to accept the sovereignty of Seljuks after the campaigns of Seljuk Sultans to Anatolia entered into the stage of fall. The sovereignty of Diyâr-ı Bakr region hand over to Seljuks during Sultan Malik-Shah's rule in order to settle the Turkmen tribes that came to Anatolia after war continuously. Thus, the relationship between Seljuks and Mervanis ended in 1093.
