Abstract (EN)
The novel is a meaningful structure organized in terms of fictional elements. The author creates the fictional world of the novel by organizing elements such as plot, character, time, place, narrator and point of view according to a basic message she chooses. This fictional world presented from a certain point of view through language enables the author's message to become concrete. In this study, the fictional structure elements and themes addressed in Sema Soykan's novels were examined. The novels subject to the examination are; "Adsız Roman", "Keşke" and "Kilit Taşı". The novel "Kilit Taşı" is the author's first novel, "Aşk Her Kadına Yakışır", presented to the reader with some additions without changing the basic fiction. Some features draw attention in terms of fiction in Sema Soykan's novels that we have examined. Sema Soykan presents the plot to the reader by dividing it into sections in her novels. It is seen that many events that seem independent in the novels intersect at some point or are included in each other. The author has created the cast of characters in her novels as crowded as possible in accordance with her purpose. The characters were examined in terms of the main character, norm, card and background characters. The presentation of time in the novels was designed in a multi-faceted way with flashbacks, forwards and summaries outside of the chronological flow. It was determined that the author constructed the setting in her novels in relation to real life. The setting, which was arranged in accordance with the atmosphere of the historical and social events included in the novels, was considered as environmental and perceptual spaces. The novels were designed quite richly in terms of narrator and point of view. In addition to the divine positioned point of view, it was seen that the subject narrator was also dominant in the novels with the inclusion of memories and diaries, and thus multiple points of view were used together. The author used a plain and understandable language in her novels. The author, who wanted to be easily understood by the reader and to give some information to the reader, achieved this aim with a clear and sincere style. Narrative techniques such as letter-diary, narrative within the narrative, montage and explanation were used functionally in the novels. Having a high sensitivity to social and historical events, Sema Soykan has included individual themes such as love, hope, courage, regret, anger as well as social themes such as education, women, exile, and customs. Therefore, in this study, it has been tried to reveal the formation of the fictional structure in the author's novels and the determinations regarding the processing of themes in this structure.
