Özet (EN)
Manuscripts are regarded with great value due to the fact that they bridge the gap between the past and the present through their being cultural inheritance. To make new and scientifically high value researches it?s essential to reach main sources and make them available for all other scientific researchers. Thus it?s important for an academician to have a good knowledge of analyzing manuscripts or to be able to produce the critical edition of manuscripts. This study is on Shams al-Din Samarqandi, the thirteenth century scholar and his Basharat al-Isharat, not completely but limited to the part on Tabiiyyât. It?s written a commentary on Ibn Sina?s al-Isharat va?t Tanbihat. The first part of the thesis is on the life and works of al-Samarqandi. The researcher concludes that although Samarqandi is educated classically convenient for his age and known mostly as scholoar of kalam and logic, he at the mean time compiled works on mathematic, astronomy and philosophy. The second part of the thesis consists of evaluations of al-Samarqandi in his Basharat al-Isharat of Ibn Sina?s Isharat. It can be said that the writing is compiled according to classical commentary methods and Samarqandi commented on al-Isharat va?t Tanbihat by closely following him, close wording with his own style and now and than it?s possible to follow the trails of a scholar?s kalamway of thinking. In the third part the author?s writing Basharat al-Isharat?s part on Tabiiyyat is critically edited with Turkish translation. As a conclusion this study contributed a great deal to a better understanding of Shams al-Din Samarqandi and his Basharat and tried to enlighten a period. Since it is not enlightened as much as it must have been, and also the period is important for both Islamic philosophy and science. Additionally through its critically edited version the writing is presented to the use of the scholars of social sciences.
