Abstract (EN)

Sennur Sezer who is one of the long-termed poets of the Turkish poetry has explained woman, woman's feelings, sensation, life perception, value judgement, experience and lifestyle from her first book Gecekondu (1964) to her last book İzi Kalsın (2011). Sezer scrutinises the role of woman in social life, family life and motherhood and writing about various topics including housework, problems in the work-life and self-realising struggle as an individual due to poverty. Sezer aimed to voice woman's problems with a poetic sensitivity across the larger audience and reflected the inequality, exploitation and injustice experienced by the woman. In this study, woman theme in Sennur Sezer's Gecekondu (1964), Yasak (1966), Direnç (1977), Sesimi Arıyorum (1982), Bu Resimde Kimler Var (1986), Afiş (1991), Kirlenmiş Kâğıtlar (1999), Dilsiz Dengbêj (2001), Akşam Haberleri (2006) and İzi Kalsın (2011) poetry books are considered and the theme is interpreted within the poet's artistic and poetic view after analysing the theme in terms of style. It is found that the poet approach reflecting woman, woman's victimisation and woman's problem from a responsibility perspective and reflect a woman's life struggle to her poetry with all of its roles.
