Abstract (EN)
Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) was developed based on the patient's inability to disconnect from the pump after cardiopulmonary bypass (KPB), which has been used in cardiac surgery for many years. It is life-saving in severe irreversible breathing or heart failure, which does not respond to current standard treatments. Today, computational fluid dynamics (CFD) applications are widely used in the design of the centrifugal pump head prototype. By analyzing conservation equations for the 3D flow volume of Centrifugal pump geometry, the flow area can be obtained and the physical sizes that define its performance are calculated. In the SimScale software that we used our thesis study, we objected to evaluate the safe missed amount in the centrifugal pump prototype made by simulation of the design created by entering the chemical data of glycerin-water solution as fluid with the specified characteristic data (H-discharge height, N-specific speed, Q-flow). Our study at Dokuz Eylul University Hospital Depark Z.07 Flow Physiology Laboratory said, "2018.KB. Centrifugal pump header criteria, which is the outcome of the SAG.082 No Short Term Life Support Device and the BAP Fast Support Project to be Designed for Thrombectomy, were used in our study. Our 8-blade prototype centrifugal pump head, which we simulate with SimScale software, has been evaluated for a safe return (loss-leakage) amount to provide flow between 0-3500 rate per minute (rpm) and 500-5000 ml/min. In the back leakage analysis applied with glycerin-water solution, the initial flow was calculated as 0.019 at 500 ml flow and 0.022 at the largest 5000 ml flow. It has been determined that the amount of incontinence resulting from the simulation is in a reliable range and domestic production can be made. This supports our hypothesis.
