Abstract (EN)

In this manner, the subject of women constitutes the essence of the study, and the Ottoman Üsküdar and Kayseri were chosen as the place of study. Thus, this issue was tried to be enlightened by various and different cases reflected in both courts. In the study where it is necessary and compulsory to go to a certain period of time, "17. The first quarter of the century "has been determined and time has been grinned. In this way, the issue of women was investigated in a more detailed and comprehensive manner and the pulse of the society was tried to be taken through women. The social-cultural-economic-legal status of women in Ottoman Üsküdar and Kayseri have been intriguing. It has been revealed that the perception of women is not correct, especially in the Ottoman Empire, which was formed by a number of western writers. In the introduction part of the thesis, which consists of five chapters, the titles used for women and the forms of addressing women in the Ottoman society were tried to be presented in the light of the records. In addition, studies on women and shari'iyye records, which constitute the main source of the thesis, are mentioned. In the first part, steps towards creating a family have been evaluated one by one. Subsequently, the material and moral burdens brought about by divorce and divorce were explained in detail. Especially when the types of divorce were examined in detail, the question "whether women are really divorced" or whether they were forced to divorce emerged and an answer was sought. In the second part, inheritance law of women is discussed and their contribution to property purchases and sales is evaluated. In addition, issues such as women's borrowing and lending, pledge and surety were discussed, and the issue of grant and the status of women regarding grants was examined in detail. The third chapter is devoted to the topic of congregations. In this regard, the socio-cultural place of the congregations in the society, their status in terms of economic and legal rights are the subject of the thesis. In addition, converting women are evaluated in this section. In the fourth chapter, the functionality of the neighborhood over the society and the immoral lawsuits reflected in both courts and the reflection of these cases in the society are discussed. In the last section, foundations are discussed and the types of foundations and women's contributions to the foundation are explained. Again in this section, it is set out that women have a profession and it has been determined that they have been performing many professions. Perhaps the most difficult of these, the documents reflected in the records of Saliha Binti Küpeli, who has overcome a difficult job such as surgery, color the work.
