Abstract (EN)
Biomass is called organic matter produced by plants by photosynthesis, renewable and non-fossil origin. Biomass, a renewable energy source, can be introduced to the economy by various transformation techniques. Particularly, with the advancement of technology and the discovery of new processes, solid, liquid and gaseous energy density products obtained from biomass can be obtained. In this study, while high quality liquid product is produced from tomato, pepper and eggplant wastes, which are intensive greenhouse wastes, by using pyrolysis method which is thermochemical process technique, the effects of pyrolysis temperature and catalyst type and amount on liquid product yield and quality are investigated. Rapid pyrolysis experiments were performed using cerium oxide, zinc oxide, zirconium oxide and iron (III) chloride as catalyst. Composition percentages and oxygen / carbon values of liquid product samples were compared and the structure or components of the product (quality) were determined by GC-MS and Elemental Analysis. As a result of the experiments, the average maximum liquid product yield (45,4%) was achieved by using iron (III) chloride catalyst. It was found that the catalyst type increased the yield of the liquid product, but the pyrolysis temperature and the amount of catalyst had no significant effect.
