Abstract (EN)
In this study, colorful sticky traps equipped with UV light-emitting diodes (LED) in color Violet and Green were used to determine the possibility of these trap combinations for sampling and control of important greenhouse pests such as Bemisia tabaci (Gennadius) (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae), Liriomyza trifolii Burgess (Diptera; Agromyzidae) and Frankliniella occidentalis (Pergande) (Thysanoptera : Thripidae). Studies were carried out on tomato, pepper and eggplant greenhouses in Mersin between 2009 and 2010. Furthermore, laboratory studies were carried out in order to support the greenhouse experiments. Depending on the data obtained from the tomato and pepper greenhouses experiments, no positive effect determined to catch L. trifolii of LED lights attached to the colorful sticky traps. It was concluded that Yellow trap equipped with Purple LED was more attractive for B. tabaci and Blue trap equipped with Purple and Yellow LED was more suitable for F. occidentalis. Eggplant experiments showed that the number of all pests captured on sticky traps equipped with LED lights was higher than control traps (not equipped with LED). In laboratory experiments, it was determined that Yellow trap equipped with Green LED captured highest individuals of L. trifolii and B. tabaci in the absence of control traps where Purple and Green LED tested together in the same environment.
