The concept of ijma in serahsi̇'s book named el-Mebsut (spesific to kitab al-büyu')

Ijma; is one of themain evidences of Islamic Law, whichit has very important function for understanding the religion and determining its constants. It is possible to mention a complete consensus that ijma is a legal proof. However; there are quite detailed and controversial opinions on various issues such as definitions of the ijma of jurists conditions of realization of ijma, and whether it occured. In this research, concepts of ijma that we detected from the chapter 'Kitab al-Buyû' of Serahsi's book named al-Mebsut will be examined. In accordance with this purpose firstly general information about the definition and nature of ijma included in the classical books of usul al-figh are given. The concepts of ijma in the book named al-Mebsut are detected and compared with classical texts. At this stage, Hanefi usul and füru literature was used. As a result; it is determined that the definitions of icma in classical works and the icma words in füru works are in agreement with each other.
