Production and development of imported chamotte material used in ceramic sanitary ware sector with domestic raw materials

Two different slips are used for the products produced in ceramic sanitary ware sector. These slips; vitrified slips and fine fire clay (FFC) slips. Sink type products with long dimension sand low baking deformation are produced with FFC slurries. High strength and low deformation behavior of FFC products are found in the literature provided by the chamotte raw material in the recipe. In addition to these important features provided by chamotte material, the low number of manufacturer sand their importation from abroad brings high costand economic instability. In this study, it is aimed to increase the competitiveness of companies in the ceramic sanitary ware industry and to present alternatives to the chamotte sector, which has a large market deficit in the world, by using local clay and kaoline.
