Abstract (EN)
Colour; It is the sensation aroused when the light reflected from a source or object falls on the retina of the eye. It is the sensitivity of the brain to the luminous effects coming through the sense of sight and the perception of these effects in different ways. Colors have symbolic meanings that vary from culture to culture, and some colors have unchangeable meanings for societies on issues such as belief and daily life. Blue is one of these colors. The blue color, the first examples of which we see with the "lapis lazuli stone" in Mesopotamian culture, is the color of holiness, eternity, trust and peace in most cultures. This color, which has a wide range of usage from the stained glass decorations in religious places to the fashion understandings of the period, from the important masterpieces of painting to the evil eye belief in eastern cultures, has an important cultural, imaginative and decorative language in the art of ceramics, which is a branch of art. This process, which started with the first pigment blue found in Ancient Egypt, turned into female faces with the Early Islamic Period, and became a language used by artists for political reasons in Far Eastern ceramics. Examples of use can be seen in a wide range of areas, from Iznik tiles adorning Ottoman palaces to still life nature paintings extending into Europe, to Delft ceramics, with traces of imitation of Chinese patterns. The color blue, which contains many color tones in the historical process, continues to evolve with the efforts to find new tones that progressed with the Renaissance and continue today. This thesis, titled "Investigation of the Use of Blue/Cobalt Blue Color in Ceramics and Investigation of Examples", was written within the scope of scientific research projects and has the project code 2103E006.
