Abstract (EN)

Feminist literary criticism, which developed at the center of the feminist movement, determined that gender inequality and the distinction between men and women are also seen in literary works that are the production of the society and represent the society, and mediated the approach to these works from a feminist perspective. In this way, feminist literary criticism criticizes the representations of women in literature, the authors that literary historians focus on, the exclusion of women writers from the literary public, the behavior and attitudes of women in literary texts, and gender practices in texts; It has been the source of including women writers and texts that will eliminate gender inequality in a way that will enable women to create their own history. Seray Şahiner, who is at the center of this thesis, is one of the writers who criticize the patriarchal order and gender roles with the characters she deals with in her works written from a feminist perspective. For this reason, in this thesis, women and men in Şahiner's texts will be examined in detail in the context of female and male roles. Within the scope of these roles, the attitudes and behaviors developed by the characters in the author's works will be focused on, and the effect of patriarchal society on determining gender roles will be discussed in the light of feminist theory. Based on this, the author's works Gelin Başı, Hanımların Dikkatine, Antabus, Kul ve Hepyek will be examined in the context of feminist literary criticism. Thus, by evaluating the texts of a woman writer who writes with a feminist consciousness, advocating gender equality, it will contribute to the increase of the visibility of women in the history of literature.
