Review and selected texts of Serbestî newspaper (101-200)

Newspapers are one of the main sources that reflect social life. For this reason, newspapers are important documents for the science of history. Newspapers are also important in that they keep the pulse of the society and give direction to the society when they are published. This makes newspapers an indispensable source of information for social sciences. Media activities in the Ottoman Empire started to create public opinion as of the Tanzimat period, and the newspapers carried the problems and suggestions regarding the social, political and economic relations networks of the period in their columns. The copies of the Serbestî newspaper, on which our study is the subject, from the number 101 published on 13 February 1324 (1909) to the number 200 published on 14 Kânûn-ı Sânî 1328 (1913), are undoubtedly important in this respect. Serbestî, one of the influential opposition newspapers of the period, is an important source for researchers working on the period when the newspaper was published. Because, we believe that the numbers we examined reflect the political, social and economic life of Serbestî's period in general. He sees the needs of the people of his freelance writers and seeks solutions to the problems by covering this situation in his own newspaper. Thus, Serbestî newspaper, acting with the consciousness of being the voice of every segment of society, wants the government to be aware of the current situation. The aim of our study is to reveal the perspective of the period in the issues of the Serbestî newspaper and to bring it to the attention of researchers by indexing the issues 101-200. Thus, the subject-based inventory of the Serbestî newspaper will be revealed and it will be revealed within the framework of which subjects and with what perspective the newspaper in question deals with the events. In this respect, our study is of the nature to form a basis for other studies. In the introduction part of our study, we primarily gave the shape features of the Serbestî newspaper. Afterwards, we made a general evaluation of the content of the Serbestî newspaper, centered on social, political, economic, literary, educational and printing presses. In the Index section of the analysis, we have classified the articles published in the newspaper according to the author's name and subject. In the texts section, we translated the texts published in the newspaper on the political, social, economic, literary, scientific and military structure of the period into Latin letters.
