Natural and human tourism resources of Serik district

The subject of the thesis selected as master's thesis is the natural and human tourism resources of the Serik district. This topic was chosen in order to determine the tourism resources of the province and the tourism activities to be made and to determine the richness of the area in terms of tourism and to find out what the missing aspects are in order to make more contribution to tourism. In the Mediterranean region, the city lies on the eastern side of the provincial center of Antalya, with its back to the Toros mountains, the district has riches in terms of tourism resources. Because of the district's location, it has hosted different civilizations. There are many cultural heritages of these civilizations in the district. Aspendos antique city, Sillyon, Pednelissos antique city and Harius ancient city are the main historical values of the city. The district, which has Aksu river on the western border and Köprüçay on the eastern border, has a surface area of 1,500 km² and consists of 66 districts. With a coastal length of 22 km, the resort has a combination of sea, sand, sun tourism, historic buildings and natural beauty. A lot of information about the district was obtained from the field studies and literature searches. Places where sea tourism is popular are Boğazkent, Belek and Kadriye. In the province, tourism is revived with Belek Tourism Center. There are also the largest facilities and hotels for tourism in this area. Jeep and ATV safaris and adventure tours, mountaineering and trekking are some of the activities in the district. The natural wonders of Zeytintaşı Cave, Köprülü Canyon, which is formed by Köprüçayı, which draws the eastern border of the county beside Uçan Waterfalls, is striking. There are rafting on the Köprüçayay and canoe tours on the Acısu stream. There are various bird species in the protected areas around Belek and the breeding grounds of sea turtle caretta carettas in Belek. Culturally, nomadic culture maintains its vitality in the region. In the district there is a big sport interest and the sport which is most interested is the oil wrestling. It is also known as the wrestlers county with a lot of importance and a lot of wrestlers.
