Ahbârî-Usûlî differentiation in the context of Shaykh al-Saduk and Shaykh al-Mufid, in the Imamiyyah

Today, Shiism which has the most supporters in the Islamic world after Ahl Al-Sunnah school is the one of Islamic sects. In order to achieve a healthy informations about Shiism, it need to get to know the schools of thought appearing in the Shi?i Tradition. In Shi?i-Imamıyyah, two important schools of thought have been pointed. One of them is Ahbârıyya and the other is Usulıyya methodized by Shaykh Al-Mufıd.In this study, informations about Ahbârıyya and Usûlıyya in the context of works of Shaykh Al-Saduk and Shaykh Al-Mufıd have been given. Before starting of this topic, basic informations about basic terms that consubstantiated by Shi?i Imamıyya and the history of the sect have been given. In this context, with putting forth Shi?i?s understanding of Hadith, the Ahbârıyya centered Ahbar was commented. In addition to this, informations have been given about Shaykh Al-Saduk which is one of the most important representative of Ahbârî thought. Moreover, the factors causing the construction of Usûlî scholls, which represents the racional Shi?i Kalam, were studied. On the other hand detailed informations about systematizing of Usulıyya thought, Shaykh Al-Mufıd and his works have been given.In the last part of our study, it was tried to have pointed how two school of thought (in the context of Shaykh Al-Saduk and Shaykh Al-Mufıd) understand the basic doctrinal issues of Shi?i-Imamıyya. While comparing two school, the subject was encouraged to be limited by Shaykh Al-Saduk?s Al-I`tıqâdât and Shaykh Al-Mufıd?s Tashih al-I`tıqâdât. In this study, it has been understood that Ahbârî thought is insufficient to solve the problems that arise in the Shi?i society. On the other hand, it was concluded that Usûlî thought which emerged as an alternative to Ahbârî thought contributed to Shi?i understanding and Shi?i Kalam active.
