Abstract (EN)
In this study, place nr. 16, discovered at the north of Seyitömer Mound which is in the reserve area of Office of Seyitömer Lignite Management (SLİ) in 2008 and dated to the first quarter of Middle Bronze Age, was investigated in addition to findings discovered in this place at in situ condition.Seyitömer Mound Middle Bronze Age layers are contemporary with the Period of Assyrian Trade Colonies (ATCP; BC. 2000/1900-1750) dated to the first quarter of 2nd Millennium BC. Concerning this period, when intense organised trade took place between the regions of Central Anatolia and Mesopotamia. Our knowledge about the cultural and commercial relationships of Central Anatolia especially with inner parts of Western Anatolia is provided through the data obtained from the few researches yet.At Seytiömer Mound, which is geographically at inner part of Western Anatolia Region, some findings were discovered which indicate that it is in relationship with Western Anatolia on the one hand, and with Central Anatolia Regions on the other. Especially Seyitömer MBA (Middle Bronze Age) bowls and potteries resemble to their significant centres as Kültepe, Alişar, Acemhöyük, Konya-Karahöyük which are dated to the Period of Assyrian Trade Colonies. Ovens and workshop/workplaces, which are densely seen at Seytiömer Mound MBA layers, indicate that the settlement was a center of ceramic production and that it held an important place for its trade.Place nr. 16, as the subject of the study, is remarkable for the data it gives about this feature of Seyitömer. The position of the findings, along with the way they were discovered, that the pots are qualified in form and technical features; and that the pots are rarely found outside the place and at phases which are dated to Middle Bronze Age at most parts of the mound have been influential on the definition of the place mentioned as a store place.
