Özet (EN)
The study was carried out in a cross-sectional and descriptive manner in order to determine the attachment status of the mothers who had cesarean and vaginal delivery to their babies . The sample consisted of a total of 160 mothers with a 1- 4 month old baby, 80 of them have caesarean deliveries and 80 of them have normal deliveries in the child services of Bitlis State Hospital and Tatvan State Hospital. The "Mother - Infant Description Form" developed by the researcher and "Maternal Attachment Scale" (MAS) were used in the data collection. The data were obtained from face to face interviews with mothers who agreed to join the research between September 2017 and March 2018. In the analysis of the data, numbers, percentages, mean and standard deviations, minimum and maximum values, T-test and Variance analysis in dependent groups, Kruskall Wallis and Mann Whitney-U analyses for the measurements that were not normally distributed were used. MAS mean score of the women who had vaginal delivery were 92.93 ± 5.80, and MAS mean score of the women who had cesarean delivery were 94.94 ± 5.36. There was a statistically significant difference among maternal attachment scores according to the mothers' delivery method (p<0.05). As a result of the study; it was found that mothers who had cesarean section had higher maternal attachment level than the mothers who had vaginal delivery.
