Abstract (EN)
The European Union, which was established after the 2nd World War with the aim of preventing a possible war in Europe, ensuring economic growth and being effective in world politics, today affects member and candidate states in every field from agriculture to industry, from culture to tourism, from economy to law, and is influential in the international arena. The Union also produces effective policies on cybercrime, which has a legal dimension, and tries to ensure international cooperation in this regard. The first international convention in this field is the European Cybercrime Convention, which was opened for signature by states on 23 November 2001 in Budapest, the capital of Hungary. The purpose of this convention is to increase cooperation on cybercrime, to take joint decisions and to bring in accordance with the convention in the domestic laws of the countries party to the convention. The European Cybercrime Convention is also very important for non-EU countries such as the USA, Canada, Japan, Montenegro, and South Africa to become parties and sign it. Considering the nature of cybercrime, the importance of taking measures and developing policies around the world will be understood even more. The Republic of Turkey, which is a candidate for full membership to the EU, is also in this struggle in the international arena, as a reflection of its relations with the EU and due to the importance of cybercrime. In this study, Turkey's cooperation with the EU and policy sharing issues in the fight against cybercrime were examined and it was seen that Turkey is at an important point in this fight.
