Abstract (EN)
In recent years, a new problem has emerged in the virtual world, different from the axis of security and violence. This problem, which is seen as cyberbullying; It is seen in every area where people can communicate, share about each other, and in short, interact. Cyberbullying activities seen on many platforms have recently been more effective on mobile platforms. The main purpose of this thesis is to examine all aspects of cyberbullying activities on mobile devices and to present a new scale against cyberbullying spread due to mobile applications. This study was prepared on the basis of cyberbullying. Cyberbullying has been examined by examining the meaning of the word, its usage in society and similar connotations have been discussed. The types, actions and usage patterns of cyberbullying have been researched in the broadest form and conveyed in the study. In recent years, a comparison has been made by examining the platforms where cyberbullying activities are seen. At the end of the comparison, digital games, social media applications and mobile devices, where cyberbullying acts are common, were examined in detail. In addition, with the transfer of other cyberbullying platforms into mobile platforms, the change of cyberbullying actions has been observed. With this Master's Thesis, the effect of mobile devices, which were not frequently encountered in previous studies, on cyberbullying is explained. Research has started with mobile phones, the first form of mobile smart devices, and comparisons with the latest form of mobile smart devices are presented today. Disturbing phone calls, text messages, inappropriate pictures and humiliating videos, which are the way cyberbullying is seen on mobile devices, are examined and the differences between the forms of cyberbullying seen on mobile devices and other platforms are examined. With this study, a cyberbullying scale was developed over mobile applications. With the developed scale, mobile application features that are effective in cyberbullying have been discovered. These features were passed through a set of scoring systems and a cyberbullying score was created for each application. In the scale where 47145 mobile applications were used, a cyberbullying level of these applications was determined. While 14238 applications were found at the highest level in cyberbullying, 45 applications were found to be at the highest level in the cyberbullying scale. In addition, applications with a high level of cyberbullying are among the applications frequently used by people; It has been determined that there are mobile Chat applications, mobile social media applications and mobile games
