The Ottoman Empire according to the Sicill-i Ahvâl ledgers Dagestanes in the bureaucracy

Dagestan-origin statesmen have an important place in the Ottoman bureaucracy, both with the medals and insignia they received, and the number and quality of the civil service they served. Based on this importance, in our study, T.C. With the examination of the biographies in the Sicill-i Ahvâl Notebooks in the Prime Ministry Ottoman Archives (BOA), the contributions of the Dagestan bureaucrats to the Devlet-i Aliye were discussed. In the Sicill-i Ahvâl Notebooks, a total of 107 documents related to Dagestan civil servants were identified, together with the addendums. In these biographies, also called Tercüme-i hâl; the nâmes of the civil servants, the nicknâmes of the families, the nâmes of the fathers, the sects they belonged to, the dates of birth, the age of starting the civil service, their education level, the amount of salary they received, the region and places they worked, the languages they knew or learned, the rank, medals and insignia, they were awarded, tables and graphics. In addition, the development of the bureaucracy, its reflections on the state, the purpose of the Sicill-i Ahvâl Commission, its items and duties were examined in the light of the books kept. Under the general situation assessment of Dagestan; Very valuable books, journals, articles, etc. in fields such as its history, geography, social and economic structure, and its connection with the Ottoman State. It has been examined by using the statistics, facts and objective situations of the Works.
