Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to explain migration experiences by Ezidi Women from Sinjar Mountain after facing violence by Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL). Violence by the ISIL is ongoing since August 2014 even though the number of hostage women is unclear; it claims that the number is quite high. One of important aim of this study to expose horrific dimension violence against women by patriarchy during the era of armed violence and war. Many Ezidi women either have been killed by the ISIL or forced sexual exploitation. Ezidi Women fled from their homeland had to challenge with problems occurred by being refugee. This study focus on migration experiences by Ezidis Women during migration from Sinjar Mountain to Uğurca Village in Beşiri, Batman (Southern-east of Turkey) and ethnographic is the main method of the study. In the first section of the study, definition on Ezidism is discussed comperatively; the concept of violence and migration with theoretical framework is designing following section of the study. Ezidi Women reside in Uğurca Camp are talking about their migration experiences at the final section of the study. The main agent of study Ezidi Women talking about violence by the ISIL, migration path, immigration and their feelings. This study is an important effort to understand life experiences of Ezidi women facing violence by the ISIL. Key Words: Ezidis, Ezidi Women, Violence, Migration, Patriarchy, Violence against Women.
