In our modern society, violence is an increasing social phenomenon. Itappears in various forms, and endangers the social order. The main reasons creatingviolence can be economic, social, psychological, sexual, ethnical, or political inorigin. Moreover, some mass communication products manufactured withcommercial interests, thematically reinforce the concept of violence. As aconsequence, violence is becoming a widespread event in society, which endangerssocial peace and life. In these terms, the necessity occurs that this socio-pathologicphenomenon should be decreased, or, if possible, eradicated.As a factor incorporating violence into children?s lives, cartoon films alsocontribute, positively or negatively, to the formation of generations of the future. Inthis case, the act of drawing can be related to cartoon films, as a tool to identify thedegree of influence on children. By this way, the influence of cartoon films onchildren can be specified, and the property of drawing pictures can be handled interms of its violence-soothing and preventive function by transforming children?snegative feelings into a creative activity.As a result of the studies carried out, it has been determined that children aregenerally negatively affected by cartoon films containing violence, as a consequenceof this influence, they can resort to violence to solve some of their problems, theyaccept the concept of violence as something quite natural in real life, and cartoonfilms based on violence have negative psychological, conceptual, and artistic effectson children.In view of the data obtained through the studies, it appears that it necessary tocarry out further research as related to the effects of cartoon films based on violence,which is the focus of this thesis. In order to come up with more constructive andwholesome solutions, the study should be carried out in a longer period of time. Interms of solutions, the family, school, and the teacher must work in collaboration.As a result of the observations and comments, some solutions weresuggested: it is necessary that children take drawing lessons more often, these lessonsbe placed in more proper hours, families be made aware of their children?s cases,cartoon films be developed and analyzed together, reading skills of students bedeveloped as an alternative to watching cartoon films, some possible negative energyin the child be gotten rid of through sport, cultural and artistic activities, such astheater and drawing, teachers who form a model for children behave more carefullyand constructively, educational seminars be held in order to make familiesknowledgeable about the possible dangerous effects of cartoon films on theirchildren, and lastly, teachers should make use of the soothing and problem solvingeffect of drawing pictures.1
