Solution proposals that will remedy the missing points determined in drivers following the psycho-technical evaluation in the armed forces

Traffic accidents that cause the death and the injury of thousands ofpeople and the material loss every year are one of the most importantproblems that have to be solved in a very fast manner by Turkey and bythe Turkish people. Traffic accidents have increased in the last yearsand reached great numerical values, on contrary to the very fastdevelopment that has been accomplished in the vehicle technology andin the infrastructure of the and above the ground facilities of thehighways where the accidents had to cease. Those factors that playroles in the accidents when these accidents are studied may begrouped in three main groups as the road and vehicle deficiencies,where the human error is in the forefront. It is being observed that the97 % - 98 % of the accidents are caused by human errors, carelessnessand lack of taking measures, in case vehicle and a part of the vehicleand road errors also originate from human factor, whereas thepercentage of the accidents that originate from the vehicle and roaderrors within the total accidents is thought to be rather low. Two bigcauses may immediately be observed when human factor is studied.The first reason is that the developed technology cannot be used by asneeded by those uneducated people and the second reason originatesfrom the fact that the human beings do not know about themselves.Unfortunately the human beings do not know their very own skills andcapacities or they cannot differentiate their own lacking points. As aresult, incompatibilities among the vehicle and the road are lived andthis causes the accidents. The personnel of the Turkish Army is alsobeing affected by the increase of the traffic accidents quantitatively andthe probability of seeing the accidents made by military vehicles on theroads with the civilian vehicles increases every day. The efforts that isbeing spent or that have to be spent in order to minimize the militaryvehicle accidents forms an important milestone in the struggle made bythe nation in preventing the existing traffic accidents in our country.The prevention of the traffic accidents that may occur in future beforethey occur by taking the necessary measures is one of the principalresponsibilities of the Armed Forces. The giving appropriate duties tothose who participate in the Armed Forces right at the beginning inaccordance with their skills and their personal properties, bydetermining these will provide the protection of the lives of those whoare being left to us and will also prevent the damaging of the propertyof the public. In this work, the psycho-technical evaluation and howshould the most appropriate training that should be provided to thoseproblematic drivers whose skills and personality properties have beendetermined have been studied and an education program has beenproposed.
