Abstract (EN)
Technological developments that started in the 1960s have led to many social and cultural changes. The effects of these changes are reflected in the urban landscapes. Changing architectural structures not only affects the city structure physically but also causes some changes in art. The buildings, which have become copies of each other with postmodern architecture, turn into uncanny objects/spaces. Cities that are similar to each other and become increasingly chaotic lose their cultural identities, making the individual feel that they are always in the same place. Therefore, it is seen that it also affects individual and social memory. At the same time, it has been observed that humanity, which reigns over nature in metal and concrete piles, is increasingly individualized. In this context, the study will be discussed within the framework of Jean Baudrillard's Simulation and Walter Benjamin's Fantasmagoria concepts. In the first part of the study, concepts such as Simulation, Phantasmagoria, Flaneur, and Gentrification will be discussed through the examples discussed. In the second part, the concepts of Modernism and Postmodernism will be explained, and the histories of the mentioned periods through architecture and visual arts will be mentioned. In the third part, the artistic works produced by the author and the contemporary works of art produced in the context of the subject will be analyzed and discussed in the context of the subjects discussed in the first and second parts, as well as the concepts of city and memory.
