Abstract (EN)
This thesis deals with the use of simulation as a decision support tool in a video cassette production plant which consists of four main departments. Each department consists of highly automated production lines. The objective of this thesis is to evaluate the performance of alternative work force allocation strategies in meeting the predefined production target for each department under given capacity constraints. The simulation models which serve to evaluate the alternative operating strategies has been developed in ARENA V2.2.
