A different look to the cinema historiography and searching a method for Turkish cinema historiography

Due to the dominance of `the film theory? and `the film critique? in the cinema studies, deferred cinema history studies have been gaining importance in the name of `New Film History?.This study, departing from the change in the cinema historiography is in search a method for a new cinema historiography, by determining the content of Turkish cinema historiography and including those stayed outside.In this study, primarily, the relationship between the cinema historiography with the other history types and the position of cinema historiography within the general historiography has been assigned. Afterwards, the connection between the art history, the film archives and the cinema history courses as specialty areas in cinema historiography with the cinema historiography has been examined.In accordance with the acquired information, Turkish cinema history studies have been analyzed. Thus, the subject, the scope and the method of Turkish cinema historiography has been put forward and in this way the content of Turkish cinema historiography has been determined. Following, a `new cinema historiography? for Turkish cinema has been suggested.In the conclusion part, both the general features of cinema historiography and the existing conditions of Turkish cinema historiography have been evaluated
