Motion graphics and movie generics in cinema

The movie generics were born from the combination of cinema and graphic design. In the early years of the cinema, the generics, which only served to inform about the film, turned into a design field that includes many disciplines. Nowadays, in the design world movie generics occupied a very important place and draws attention in both fields graphic design and cinema by producing highly original and intensive products. This products push the limits of the imagination with motion graphics, that developed with the effect of technology. The subject of this thesis are, firstly the role of graphic design and animated graphics in the development of generic design and the role of generics in the design world as a result of progressing in harmony with the developing technology, and the effects of generics, which are a graphic design product, on the cinema sector. Accordingly, in the first part of the thesis, motion graphics in the second part, film generics, and in the third and last part, the development of motion graphics and movie generics in cinema and graphic designers who shaped the history of generic design were examined and discussed with their generic analysis. In addition, an interview was conducted with a researcher, writer / academician working in the field of cinema and a graphic designer doing generic design. Writing process, consists of the examining written literature, books, journals, thesis studies and online resources and watching of the generics and films both, and setting examples from them. In addition, the thesis is aimed to be a resource that can be used by researchers and designers on "Motion Graphics and Film Generics in Cinema".
