Abstract (EN)
In this study concerning with the forward-curved open impeller vanes which are used in circulation pumps, the theoretical analysis were firstly done. In a free flow pump, there exist a rotor, two big body and water inlet and outlet channels. This body consists of front and rear of rotor and even, the spiral structure that water flow through. When studying the flow through the rotor, the factors influencing on the efficiency were investigated. A theoretical approach was done to be able to explain the pressure distribution between the blades. Since almost all characteristical values for open impeller pumps depend on the rotor types, the blade transport theory was handled. Since the rotor is rotating element in the pump, the forces acting on rotating elements, particularly on the rotor, were tired to be investigated. Searching the literature about the open impeller pumps, the theoretical and experimental studies were discussed. The factors influencing on the efficiency were studied in detail and given by figures and relations. The clearance losses is a kind of loss occuring in most of the hydraulic machines. After this loss were studied in detail, it was passed to pump calculations. The theoretical calculations for the farword- curved open impeller vanes and main body was determined by drawing a project of the rotor blades. The duties of elements were explained by giving information about the experimental set-up which is the most important part of this study. The operation of the system and the performation of the measurument were given in detail. The manufactured forward-curved open impellr vanes were experienced and the flowrate, manometric heigt, power and efficieny versus the clearance width were given by diagrams. In couclision, the diagrams were discussed and the experiment results were interpereted. According to these results, the case for ideal number of blades and maximum efficiency were stated.
