Abstract (EN)
Recently, healthcare buildings in Turkey have started to use buildings with seismic base isolators. In order for health buildings to be put into service after a major earthquake, it is necessary for these buildings to be equipped with seismic base isolators. Modeling, analysis and design of systems with base insulators differ significantly from standard structures. In this study, Haseki training and research public hospital in Istanbul was chosen as a sample building. The structure is designed and implemented with on-site seismic isolators. The base seismic isolators used are designated separately for friction pendulum type (FPS) and lead core rubber type (LRB). It was designed to provide the "Uninterrupted Use" performance level under DD1 and DD2 earthquake levels and was analyzed with a computer program (ETABS). The design of a seismic isolator was examined by considering the period and characteristic strength ratio parameters. It is envisaged to use a total of 248 seismic isolators, one under each column, in the building base insulation. In this study, the design of the insulation system was carried out using the Effective Earthquake Load Method defined in the Turkish Building Earthquake Regulation (TBDY-2019). Taking into account the criteria of the Turkish Building Earthquake Regulation (TBDY-2019), lead-core rubber and friction isolators were designed under a 14-storey reinforced concrete structure, and the characteristic strength ratio (Q/W) and period, shear forces, acceleration and floor drift change affected the seismic isolator behavior. The aim was to determine the effect.
